About This Product
This additional plate allows balancing of heavy eyepieces in combination with bino-viewers when pointing towards the zenith. Fits between the mount and existing saddle. Compatible with both 'D' or Dual 'DV' saddles.

Supplied with 16mm diameter x 320mm long eyepiece counterweight shaft which can be fitted to the front or rear of the Y-axis balance plate depending on which side of the mount the Y-axis plate is fitted.

CNC machined, black anodized finished and fitted with stainless steel hardware.

Available with the altitude axis spacer which will be required if you have a motor system fitted and fit the Y-axis balance plate on the left side of the mount.

Tripod Compatibility

The AZ100 base includes an M12 tapped hole for tripod attachment. It mounts directly to Berlebach tripods with the appropriate adapter plate (available with AZ100 fitting). For Sky-Watcher NEQ6, Orion Atlas, or Celestron CGEM tripods, the azimuth pin must be removed. An optional adapter plate is available for EQ-5 style tripods.

Encoder Configuration for Nexus DSC Pro

If using the AstroDevices Nexus DSC Pro with AZ100 encoders, configure the step count as −152000, −152000 (negative values). In SkySafari, set coordinates to "Horizon" rather than "Equatorial." The standard Nexus DSC (non-Pro) uses positive values: +152000, +152000.
