10Micron AZ3000HPS Alt-Azimuth Mount
Price as Configured: $23,385.00
The 10Micron AZ3000HPS is a full observatory-class altazimuth mount built on the mechanical platform of the GM3000HPS equatorial mount, carrying up to 100 kg (220 lbs) of instrument payload with the precision absolute encoders and sub-arcsecond tracking accuracy that define the 10Micron HPS series. Designed for permanent observatory installations, remotized observing sites, and institutional programs requiring high-throughput multi-telescope survey capability, the AZ3000HPS brings research-grade performance to altazimuth astronomy at this payload class.
Deep Space Products is the exclusive certified 10Micron service and support provider in the United States. All firmware updates, diagnostics, and repairs are handled domestically. A DSP Remote hosting discount is available for mounts installed at our Bortle 1 facility in southwest New Mexico. Sales are limited to North and South America — please inquire about availability before ordering.

What is the AZ3000HPS payload capacity, and what instruments does it support?
The AZ3000HPS carries 100 kg (220 lbs) in standard single-telescope configuration. The optional dual-telescope kit (10M300DAZ) extends this to 100 kg + 65 kg (220 + 143 lbs) simultaneously. Typical instruments at this payload class include 300 mm aperture refractors, 400 mm Newtonian reflectors, and large Cassegrain, RC, or CDK optical tubes. Deep Space Products can help you plan counterweight configuration and saddle plate selection for specific instruments before purchase.
What applications is the AZ3000HPS best suited for?
The AZ3000HPS is engineered for satellite tracking, photometric and astrometric survey programs, LiDAR laser ranging, video astronomy, planetary imaging, solar system patrol work, and multi-telescope observatory programs. For deep-sky astrophotography with long exposures, a field de-rotator is required due to the altazimuth design. For all other applications, the AZ3000HPS delivers full 10Micron pointing and tracking precision without a rotator.
How does the AZ3000HPS differ from the AZ2000HPS Combi?
The AZ3000HPS carries 100 kg (220 lbs) versus 50 kg (110 lbs) for the AZ2000HPS Combi — double the payload. The AZ3000HPS uses larger-diameter axes (80/50 mm vs. 50 mm), heavier worm wheels (315/255 teeth vs. 215 teeth), and a larger counterweight shaft (50 mm vs. 40 mm). Slew speed tops out at 12°/s versus 20°/s for the AZ2000HPS. The AZ3000HPS is purpose-built for observatory-class instruments and fixed installations; the AZ2000HPS Combi with its split-body design is better suited for semi-portable or dual-use setups.
Is a dual-telescope configuration possible, and what does it allow?
Yes. The optional dual-telescope accessory (10M300DAZ) allows a second optical tube on the opposing side of the mount — up to 65 kg (143 lbs) in addition to the primary 100 kg. This configuration enables simultaneous multi-wavelength imaging, dual-program survey operations, or multi-telescope patrol work from a single mount. All Losmandy 3″ and "Maxi" 4″ dovetail plates compatible with the GM3000 series work with the dual-telescope setup. Contact Deep Space Products to discuss saddle plate and counterweight configuration.
Can I use the AZ3000HPS without a PC?
Yes. The V3 control box is a standalone Linux-based system. The heated, glove-compatible keypad provides access to all functions — alignment, go-to, tracking, and model building — without any external computer. PC or tablet connection via Ethernet, RS-232, or Wi-Fi adds ASCOM driver support and web interface access but is not required.
Is a cold-temperature version available?
Yes. The AZ3000HPS Cold version (10M-3000AZF) is available for installations in environments with sustained sub-zero temperatures. Contact Deep Space Products for specifications and lead times.
Where is 10Micron service handled in the United States?
