The Officina Stellare 3" Off-Axis Guider is thin and solid for great performance with today’s larger CCD cameras. This manual off-axis guider allows you to guide from your primary telescope with the same unfiltered light detected by your camera’s sensor. Because you are guiding in front of your filter wheel, you will be able to see more stars.

The Officina Stellare 3" Off-Axis Guider comes with a Borg 7315 1.25" helical focuser installed at the guiding port. This non-rotating lightweight focuser has 50 micron index marks on the outside of the barrel, and offers 10mm of travel. It comes with the Borg 7317 1.25" eyepiece holder.

About This Product
Add a focus motor to the secondary mirror of your Officina Stellare RiFAst, RiDK or RiLA 400 telescope. Control of the secondary mirror motor is achieved via the ATC-02 (sold separately). With the ATC-02 and the Secondary Mirror Focuser package, you can automatically find the optimum distance between the primary and secondary to achieve the best theoretical performance. This stage uses a linear stepper motor actuator with extremely high resolution (nm) for zero image shift focusing capabilities. Provided software is ASCOM compliant and can be used in conjunction with other programs to provide autofocus operations.

The Officina Stellare Deluxe Collimation Kit offers users of their reflecting telescopes a simple yet precise way to keep optics collimated.

The Officina Stellare Deluxe Collimation Kit includes:

  • A custom, high powered 532 nm green holographic laser
  • A precision-machined auto-centering laser adapter
  • A Takahashi Collimating Telescope (TCE0100) & adapter
  • A hard case with instructions

The collimation procedure is simple, fast and accurate. Simply put the assembled collimation kit in the back of the telescope and, using the sliding part of the Takahashi Collimation Scope, align the dot in the Tak scope with the dot present on the secondary mirror. Then, simply unscrew the light baffle of the primary mirror and, sliding the scope tube, focus on the 4 blades holding the secondary mirror. At this point you will see the blades and their reflections on the primary mirror. Using the collimation bolts on the back of the telescope, make adjustments until the four blades superimpose themselves perfectly on their reflection on the primary mirror. Once this is done, you are finished collimating! The whole operation takes about ten minutes.

The Officina Stellare ProRC scopes are completely free from chromatic aberration, and the performance is the same at any wavelength; the only limit is the coating light reflectivity. Custom aluminum, silver, or gold coatings are available for working bandwidth that can easily cover the 350-5000 nm interval.

The Officina Stellare ProRC scope has the maximum possible level of light transmission to the focal plane (no lenses absorption/reflection/scattering along the light path).

This performance makes the RC, in most of the cases, the "perfect" scope for professionals, because they are usually interested in working with a visual wavelength range, with maximum performance over a relatively small field of view.

The primary cell is detachable for easy cleaning of the mirror.

OPTICS

The Officina Stellare PRO RC Series is built around the best quality true Ritchey-Chrétien optical sets available today.

All telescopes can be provided with its specific interferometric report, stating and certifying the overall quality to the customer. Our standard range goes from 400 mm (16 inches) to 800 mm (32 inches), and we offer both low expansion glass (borosilicate, Pyrex or similar) or near zero expansion ceramic glass substrate options (Ohara Clear Ceram Z HS, Japan, which is one of the best ceramic glass available on the market today). Larger models are available.


MECHANICS

The Officina Stellare PRO RC Series carbon fiber/aluminum compound structure is designed and optimized with CAD and computer support modeling to achieve the best rigidity and lightness. Only full CNC machined parts are used to guarantee the best possible precision. Only special aluminum alloy, stainless steel, titanium, and brass metals are used for long-lasting, low maintenance operations.

High resistance anodization or multiplayer paint for unbeatable resistance to environmental conditions.

The unique and innovative design of both primary and secondary mirror holding cells produces no astigmatism is induced on the mirrors and the absence of mirror shift or flop is guaranteed.
