What is the HyperTune ® service?

It is a service we perform on your mass-produced German equatorial mount ("GEM") where we inspect the mount for obvious signs of wear, tear, or defects and then clean, lubricate and adjust it to top performance, update the controller, and perform repairs as needed.  Similar services may also be performed on your telescope.  We can also upgrade certain parts and mechanisms purchased through Deep Space Products or supplied by you.

  How long does the HyperTune ® service take?

Turn-around times depend on how many mounts we have in the shop and exactly what services and upgrades you request.  You can e-mail us for our current estimated turn around time at any time.  Once your service request is sent to us, we will inform you of our current estimated turn around time and will keep you notified of your service progress.  You will also be notified when your mount is finished, and ready to ship back.  Our goal is to have most services completed within two weeks of receipt of the mount and/or scope in our shop.

What does the HyperTune ® service include?  

What the service includes is dependant on what level of HyperTune ® you request.  There are four levels HyperTune ® service offered, Express, for those owners who just want a quick, inexpensive service to keep their mount in top operating condition; Standard for those owners who want their mount cleaned, lubricated, repaired and adjusted to top performance; Advanced for those owners who want their mount and OTA cleaned, repaired, lubricated and adjusted to top performance; and Custom for those owners who want to have specific additional services and upgrades performed on their mount or OTA instead of, or in addition to, our regular HyperTune ® Express, Standard and Advanced services.
